MEMENTO MORI
PERFORMANCE / INSTALLATION / 05.2015
Is death our last taboo? Something we do not talk about. We live as if we will never die and in that way we let death have its fearful power. Maybe in some way we should embrace death more, so we don’t have to be afraid anymore and shocked when death shows itself. Can we incorporate death in our society? Can we set up a ritual so we get an opportunity to think and talk about death and break the taboo?
In this work visitors were invited to enter the room by themselves and lay in the coffin. For every visitor a personal death card was set up at the bottom of the coffin with their date of birth and the presentation date as their date of death.
